Details of the operation

The local committee of tourism and its partners propose a new activity for everybody to discover Haute Bretagne, Ille-et-Vilaine, combining new technologies and treasure hunting.

It is an original and funny way to visit touristic places, famous or not, either in couple, with your family or also with friends...

We have created caches where you can find one or some objects in a container. These caches are geolocated with a satellite. One or more enigma, can be found on the website www.tresorsdehautebretagne.fr or also at the department tourism board and Tourist Offices, which participate to the operation. This will enable you to discover the information necessary to insert in your GPS all the caches to find.

Example of enigma: When you start with the GPS information, looking to the North-East, you will see an animal house. If the animal is smaller than a fox, you have to add 1 to the following information: XXX. If the animal is bigger than a fox, you have to add 2 to the following information...

You can go to the treasure hunting with your GPS or mobile equipped with a GPS, like an Iphone. You can also rent the equipment at the department tourism board (precise at more or less 5 to >10 metres), before starting the hunting.

When you find the cache, you can replace one or more gadgets found in the container by other objects and complete the notebook of the race, precising the date of your treasure hunting, a comment on the game and the way you feel about this, your experience. You can also describe the objects taken and those you have added.

 Among the objects you let, you could possibly discover  a « geocoin » (a coin with a piece of metal which can be followed from a cache to another one, owing to a unique number) with the colours of the    « Tourism en Haute-Bretagne Ille-et-Vilaine ». These coins are produced by the Tourism committee and owing to this unique numero, you can follow the way of the geocoin on our website www.tresorsdehautebretagne.fr and see its course directly on a map.

Then, we invite you to connect on the website www.tresorsdehautebretagne.fr to indicate your discovery and share your experience with other Haute-Bretagne geocachers', fascinated and enthousiastic about geocaching.
